When you are waiting for something good, you can never wait too long. This Swedish proverb perfectly applies to "Third Act in the Theatre of Madness" - the new album of Illnath, melodic extreme metal formation from Denmark. After the long five years that have passed since the release of the band's sophomore CD "Second Skin Of Harlequin", the musicians are finally ready to release their new offering! It demonstrates a more extreme side of Illnath and is not so keyboard-oriented as the previous album. Nevertheless, the band managed to retain and even further develop melodiousness and haunting atmospheres it is famous for – thanks to the incredible guitars as well as to the performance of the new singer Mona Beck. She proved to be a more than suitable replacement for the former frontman Narrenschiff by supplementing the new music of Illnath with her diverse vocal parts ranging from soft whispers to furious growls. Each of the new compositions is like an amazing musical journey that takes listeners into its own dark, wonderful, and captivating world. The more you listen to the new songs of Illnath the more new elements and twists you find – this diverse and catchy music seems like a truly inexhaustible source of discoveries…
